Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

Our cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program incorporates physical reconditioning, self-care education, and breathing techniques that improve the patient’s ability to carry out the activities of daily living. All patients receive a thorough evaluation and individualized treatment plan.

Program Phases

The cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program is divided into two levels:

Acute rehabilitation is an inpatient program of intense physical and psychosocial therapy. Our comprehensive evaluation of patients allows us to customize treatment plans that focus on reentering the community. Average length of stay is 14 days.

Outpatient rehabilitation is an individualized, highly specific treatment program designed to continue the patient’s progress toward maximum independence from the home setting.

Spinal Cord Rehabilitation

The Spinal Cord Rehabilitation program at Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital offers comprehensive rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries, either traumatic or non-traumatic, for patients needing a specialized and coordinated process to amplify a patient’s physical, emotional, and psychological ability. Patients benefit from neuro-psychological treatments that maximize independence in self-care, activities of daily living, and mobility.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital provides a wide range of treatment programs to assist those individuals who may have been recently diagnosed with a neurological condition or those who are living with a neurological disorder. Through our multi-disciplinary approach, each program is designed to meet the patient’s specified needs to improve function and to provide education to reduce the risk of future medical problems.

  • Parkinson’s (newly diagnosed or exacerbated)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (newly diagnosed or exacerbated)
  • Polyneuropathy
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Polio

  • Myasthenia Gravis

Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital is proud to be the only freestanding acute rehabilitation facility in southern Dallas County.
