Philosophy & Approach

Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital, a Dallas-area hospital located in southern Dallas County, welcomed its first patient in January 2008. We are a 50-bed comprehensive acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to providing physical rehabilitation that improves the daily lives of people recovering from the disabling effects of an acute illness or injury. We offer specialized treatment programs in stroke, brain injury, amputee recovery, orthopedic, and neurological rehab. Our beautiful, modern, patient-centric facility is equipped with the latest technologies to help our rehabilitation teams attain optimal outcomes for the patients we serve. We are Joint Commission- and Medicare-certified, and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Services Include:

  • 24/7 admissions process
  • Home evaluations
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech / language therapy
  • Recreational therapy
  • Outpatient therapy
  • Rehabilitation nursing
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Orthotic / prosthetic services
  • Caregiver / family education and training
  • Case Management/Social Services

As an acute rehabilitation hospital, our primary purpose is to provide intensive, short-term therapy and training for both inpatients and outpatients. Normally, Texas residents average around a 14-day stay for inpatient physical rehab. Lengths of stay vary, however, and are always determined by individual needs, personal determination and progress in improving.

The rehabilitation teams at Methodist Rehabilitation understand that rehabilitation care is a new experience for most of our patients and their families. At times it can be physically exhausting and emotionally trying. But throughout all our programs, our first commitment is always to our patients’ care and safety as they learn new skills and ways of coping with the activities of daily life.

We look forward to helping you achieve the highest-possible levels of improvement and independence.
